As a photographer with constant look behind the scenes of every event I shoot, I can't help but have my favorite photos moments. Sometimes it's a sense of movement, the spontaneity of the moment, or simply the friendship between the people. From posed photos to fun candid moments, I created a round up of some of my favorite shots form this summer.

Taken at the Men and Women Who Cook by the McLaren Foundation, I'm in LOVE with this photo because of its authentic joy and freedom. Captured from a distance, sometimes the best moments are captured when the beloved subject isn't focused on the camera. I love how free and loose and interaction feels. As often as I tend to be in people's faces with my obnoxious camera, some of my favorite moments are taken discreetly, without intruding in the moment.

Another candid moment! This was taken at the 200+ Women Who Care, put on by the Community Foundation of S. Clair County at the Wrigley Center in Port Huron. During a lull in the speeches and program, I stood amongst the crowd and simply captured acquaintances interacting with each other. Sometimes I love it when they ignore the photographer!

Another aspect of being a photographer in Port Huron is running into friends and acquaintances at events. Sometimes it feels like a family reunion, which adds a layer of comfort and anticipation when I show up for an event gig. These two fantastic ladies are personal friends of mine and each other, and they're making a wonderful impact in our community. I love how that warmth shows up in the photo.

This photo was also taken at the Wrigley Center, which offers a plethora of dynamic, colorful lighting for events. I particularly enjoy the sense of movement as folks fill their plates. Taking a photo from the long end of the table while people reach across it is one of my personal favorite types of food photos at events.

ALD Thermal Treatment recently celebrated the 20 Year Anniversary at their Port Huron location, and it was a blast capturing the interactions amongst their international team. There were colleagues flown in from Mexico and Germany, so it was imperative we took team photos! After taking a professional pose, we decided to loosen up and take a fun one! It's always one of my favorites types of group photos, even if it's not the main one they choose to use for their marketing purposes.

In this photo, also taken at ALD Thermal Treatment, I enjoy the closeness of the colleagues. Simply having their arms around each other gives the images such a sense of warmth and camaraderie.

I love capturing spontaneous hugs and embraces from a distance. Watching people greet each other (while they momentarily forget a photographer is watching) is one of my favorite ways to capture those warm, authentic moments!

A photo of a photo! I was just quick enough to capture a group selfie. While sometimes people get nervous when they're in front of my professional camera, I notice they are much more comfortable when taking a spur-of-the-moment selfie.

For this image, we were trying to coax over one more person over for a group photo. For a quick moment, everyone turned in the same direction, and I couldn't help capturing that synergy of movement. Unexpected and fun!

The 88th Blue Water Area Chamber Golf Classic was a particular highlight for me this summer. A golf event was a new adventure for me, and definitely worth it. It was my goal to capture every participating team, which was no small feat as they scattered across the golf course throughout the day. With the help of a fantastic volunteer, we were able to capture every single team, woot!

At this golf event, I had to be quick with my camera when people zoomed by on their golf carts and flashed a spontaneous smile my way!

Another team photo at the Chamber Classic! The sense of friendship, camaraderie, and fun made the event unforgettable. Photography has taken me on so many adventures!
